UNIQUE CONTENT

Our search consultants will tune the
BravoSquared engine to work perfectly for
your users and content.

Relevancy is relative. Your content attributes and meta data will be
weighted to produce search results that make sense.

Content administrators can choose to promote featured content.

Bravo Search provides search suggestions for misspellings or irrelevant search queries. Similar to google's "did you mean" generator, if a user's search phrase does not yield a certain number of results (this threshold is configurable), a suggestion will appear with a closely matched phrase which replaces the search phrase and yields results.

When the "Did You Mean?" feature is triggered, the site will display a message, showing the user's original query and indicating that no results were found, followed by the "Did You Mean?" suggestion. The user can click a link to accept the suggestion and see the results.

Why this is important:
Your users shouldn't be punished because they don't know the exact spelling of a key phrase, especially if it involves technical jargon or scientific terminology.

This is where Bravo Search's real power comes from. With Bravo Search you can fully customize your index schema. This means that the search results can be segmented, filtered, and sorted using taxonomic concepts that make sense for YOUR organization.

The implementation of your taxonomy starts during the discovery process; the content is analyzed to determine what taxonomic concepts can be gleaned from the source data, and if necessary, how other taxonomy can be applied as the content is pulled into the search engine. From there, user interface (UI) is designed that uses these taxonomic concepts as filtering and sorting mechanisms.

Why this is important:
The search results page will have filtering and sorting functionality that makes sense to your users.

Give your site visitors the power to find exactly what they are looking for. Thanks to custom indexing functionality, Bravo Search allows for custom facets and filters that will make it easy for your site visitors to narrow down their search results.

The BravoSquared team will help you determine the best filter and facet options as part of a user experience consultation. Typically, the facets are based on taxonomy terms that are significant to your users or properties that apply to your content.

Why this is important:
Web users have come to expect this type of functionality. It's been demonstrated as the best way to help users find their needle in the haystack.

Gertrude Stein said, "A rose, is a rose, is a rose." But is a "rose" the same as "roses," or "rosy?" The language processor that comes with BravoSquared search helps make sense of it all and ensure that users don't miss out on content just because they used a slightly different phrase or word variant than is found in your content or meta data.

The BravoSquare engine is smart about language. The following language process concepts can be applied: Spell Check, Synonyms, Thesaurus, Stemming, Shingling, Wild Card Terms, Custom Stop Words.

Why this is important:
Your search engine needs to account for the variety of ways that people use language.

If your site relies on the search mechanism that comes with your web platform or CMS, then you could be experiencing performance issues. The built-in search might be hogging your server resources. When you offload your search to BravoSquared this problem goes away and your users will experience lightning fast search performance with no penalty to the speed of the rest of your site.

Search functions which are "built-in" to a web platform can harm site performance in two ways. First, the process of indexing content is processor intensive and it takes this processing power from the same pool that is used to serve web pages. Often times, web sites are noticeably slower when a search index process is running. Secondly, the built-in search may be inefficient at handling users' search requests, frustrating users who wait a long time for their search result. Offloading your search function to BravoSquared resolves both of these issues. BravoSquared search can be hosted in your data center ("on premise") or in our cloud. In either case, the search can scale as needed. The engine is lightning fast encouraging your users to take full advantage of the advanced functionality.

Why this is important:
Site performance has a direct correlation on user satisfaction and site conversion success.

Gone are the days of being locked into ugly search result templates. With BravoSquared Enterprise Search, the results page template will be customized to meet the precise needs of your organization - custom filters, custom segments and tabs, and custom result layout and styling.

The BravoSquared team will conduct a UX design engagement to determine how the search results page can be structured to best match your content and the needs of your audience.

Why this is important:
Your content is unique. The needs of your users are unique. Only a custom tailored search solution will hit the mark and improve the site's search user experience.

BravoSquared brings you the power of federated search, allowing you to combine any number of different data sources so that you can search across multiple sites and content repositories in one go.

Stop the Scavenger Hunt!

With federated search, you can let your users go beyond searching just the current website. They can search data that lives on other portals, Amazon S3, your ERP or AMS, your LMS, your CRM, cloud folders, and more.

Why this is important:
Federated search truly unlocks the intelligence of your organization. Users will no longer have to waste time running separate searches at different interfaces looking for content.

Sometimes your visitors don't know exactly what they are looking for, that's when "type ahead" comes in very handy. Bravo Search gives your visitors the power to determine and find exactly what they are looking for fast and easily.

Users love this and have been trained to expect it by Google. A twist on this concept is that Bravo Search starts showing search results (instead of key phrases) in the dropdown as the user types, potentially allowing them to bypass the results page and go directly to content.

Why this is important:
It's all about helping the user to complete their missions quickly and effectively.

Our Bravo Search can also parse and search within the following document types: Office, OpenOffice, AdobePDF, HTML, RTF, Plain Text, Audio File Metadata, Video File Metadata, and Image Metadata.

Not only can Bravo Search find content within files, but we can go further and provide special viewing capabilities. For instance, your users can potentially view PowerPoint slideshows right within search results.

Why this is important:
If documents are a repository for your content, you need to make it easy for your users to locate such content.

Bravo Search provides for the ability to customize the weighting mechanics for determining relevancy.

Every organization's content is different, as are their goals and audiences. There is no "one size fits all" approach to relevancy. This is why relevance "tuning" is a critical part of any search implementation. Without it, the benefits of a powerful search engine will never be realized.

Why this is important:
This is where the rubber hits the road. The payback for any search project is when the engine delivers the perfect top result after a keyword search.

We have a saying at BravoSquared: "Search is the destination." It may sound pithy, but what we mean by it is that it's time to stop thinking of your search as providing pass-through links to content. Instead, start imagining how search can answer questions directly and allow users to consume content right from the search tool.

It is always instructive to look at what Google is doing. More and more when you type in a query, Google just brings you the answer; it doesn't force you to link away to another website (or through several as you look for the right one). This is what we mean when we say, "Search is the destination." The BravoSquared engine can let your users view images, video, and slideshows (PowerPoint docs) right within the results, making it both the ultimate media finder AND viewer.

Why this is important:
Your users deserve the best experience. When they can quickly view content within the search engine, it saves them the trouble of clicking back and forth as they sift through content.

Our team is standing by. We can deliver a turn-key search engine implementation and make the entire process a breeze. Or, if you prefer, we can enable your team to be the most effective by providing training and consultation.

Our team consists of user experience specialists, graphic designers, UI programmers, and systems integrators. We thrive while tackling problems that other groups find difficult.

Why this is important:
The set up and implementation of a search engine is a specialized activity. Whether you anticipated needing only a little help, or a lot, it's important to know that assistance is available when you need it.
